Basketball FRVR

LiveOps and growth at portfolio scale

Played a major role in scaling the game from approximately 400K to 2–3M daily users, alongside stronger LiveOps, virality measurement and portfolio decisions.

01 / Context

The opportunity

FRVR needed to strengthen how its portfolio operated live games and evaluated growth opportunities. The work combined game-level changes with capabilities that producers and teams could use across products: remote configuration, clearer measures of virality and player value, and a regular portfolio evaluation process.

02 / Responsibility

My role in the work

As Production Lead from July 2022 to September 2023, I led and developed Game and Technical Producers working across live games and new initiatives. I supported coordination between internal and external contributors and helped teams respond to product opportunities and delivery challenges. My major contribution to Basketball FRVR’s growth was part of that broader production and growth remit, working with the people responsible for the game.

03 / Decisions

What I focused on

  • Built LiveOps capabilities from scratch, including remote configuration and control of game functionality and events.

  • Introduced virality and player-value measures into product decisions, working with k-factor and kLTV alongside stronger game metrics.

  • Worked on game flows and functionality focused on virality and re-engagement, connecting player behavior with growth decisions.

  • Established a quarterly portfolio evaluation process to support prioritization and investment across games.

04 / Outcomes

Daily users: endpoint range

Reported growth during July 2022–September 2023; a team outcome to which I played a major role.

  • Played a major role in scaling Basketball FRVR from approximately 400K to 2–3M daily users during the Production Lead period.
  • Strengthened shared LiveOps and portfolio evaluation capabilities across FRVR.

05 / Leadership

The scope of the work

The work connected the development of producers with the operation and growth of live games. Basketball FRVR was a team outcome to which I played a major role; the wider remit also included shared capabilities and portfolio evaluation. It demonstrates how production leadership can influence product outcomes while improving the way multiple teams assess opportunities and coordinate delivery.
